Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

A successful and busy first term draws to a close…

As we are now enjoying our first week of school holidays, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our students and staff for their hard work and all parents for their support after a successful and prosperous first term. It was quite a busy term for every one of us. Some major events of the term included:

Recently, Year 7 students embarked on a two night camp at YMCA Lady Northcote. It was a great experience for them to understand that living together with different people in the same environment requires skill, patience and sacrifice. Camps are great tools to improve students’ friendship and life skills such as confidence, taking responsibility and helping others. I hope all of our students enjoyed and learnt a lot from this camp. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to our teachers for spending time away from their families and for all their efforts and dedication in making this camp a memorable experience for our students. Your efforts really deserve all my appreciation.

Our Community Engagement Department held a Year 7 parents welcoming BBQ on Friday, 19th of March. It was a beautiful day with a fantastic atmosphere. It was a wonderful opportunity to socialize with our parents while enjoying delicious food together. I would like to sincerely thank the Community Engagement team for organizing this event. Your job was timely and very helpful. Our doors are always open for our parents and we know that building bridges between school and parents and establishing productive networks are very important to improve students’ academic performance, mental and social well-being.

We also celebrated International Women’s Day and Harmony Day (Cultural Diversity Week) with many activities throughout Week 8 and Week 9. I would like to thank our Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Coordinator, Mrs Ruveyda, our SRC coordinator, Mrs Ozlem, the Student Representative Council, Mrs Inass Fayad, and the International Women’s Day committee and supporting staff for their time, effort and coordination of fun and engaging activities. This included Badge Making, Purple Accessory day, lunch time movie screenings, Kahoot competitions, Cultural Dress Day, Talent Displays, Teachers vs Students Soccer Match, DEAR time activities, and a fantastic Art Competition.

SEQTA Login

We all believe parent involvement in schooling is paramount. SEQTA is a powerful school information system that provides parents with access to real-time information on students' academic and behavioural progress. We strongly recommend families log in regularly. You will be able to view your child’s online assessments; communication notes from their teachers; forthcoming assessments and projects; awards and behaviour records.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our students, parents/guardians and staff a safe and happy holiday and to encourage all students to use their time wisely during their holidays: read widely and increase your general knowledge.

We look forward to seeing all students back at school on Tuesday 20th April 2021 for the start of Term 2.

Kind regards,
Ilhan Eroglu
